The Icelandic Love Corporation
The Icelandic Love Corporation - Eirún Sigurðardóttir (1971), Jóní Jónsdóttir (1972) and Sigrún Hrólfsdóttir (1973), graduated from the Icelandic College of Arts and Crafts in 1996. Since then they have lived and studied in New York, Berlin and Copenhagen and are currently based in Reykjavík.
They have earned international attention for their clear and enjoyable presentation of works that tread a fine line between controversy, irony, and jest. Just over a decade ago, they burst onto the Icelandic art scene with a seductive and light-hearted presence, reviving general interest in performance as an art form. They have since worked in various media, exhibiting installations, videos, sculpture, and photographic works as well as performance. Their diverse subjects reflect a sharp focus on contemporary life.
